About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Smith + Andersen. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, designers, and contractors.
  • Coordinate and manage project documentation, including design briefs, concept reports, and shop drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including the provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of project engineering experience in the field of electrical building services, with at least 3 years functioning at a PM level.
  • Strong electrical design capabilities and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledgeable about the provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, and standards.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. A senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities will also be considered.
  • LEED Accreditation / Experience implementing sustainable design (LEED or Net-zero projects) is an asset.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and clients.
  • Strong experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects.
  • Sound communication skills, demonstrated through client and staff relations.
  • Demonstrates initiative and practical problem-solving.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
