Beverage Operations Manager

Job Overview:

The Beverage Operations Manager will lead the bar program by establishing and upholding beverage standards while enhancing sales through inventive and engaging promotions, as well as fostering relationships with suppliers and vendors. This role is responsible for the daily management of the restaurant bar, encompassing staffing, cost management, employee training, budgeting, administrative tasks, and active floor supervision during service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive bar and beverage program for the establishment, including sake, soju, cocktails, beers, garnishes, and non-alcoholic options.
  • Develop and sustain service and operational benchmarks for the bar, utilizing best practices and efficiencies wherever feasible.
  • Spearhead the creation and upkeep of cocktail menus featuring innovative products and combinations while considering cost and speed requirements.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with beverage suppliers to source new products, promotions, and favorable pricing.
  • Articulate the vision to all team members, leading by example and reinforcing the core values of the organization daily while inspiring the team with an exciting vision for the future.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and senior management.
  • Exhibit high personal integrity and business ethics, seizing every opportunity to promote the venue.
  • Employ conflict resolution and problem-solving skills effectively.
  • Aim for maximum efficiency and continuous improvement in staff productivity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business or Hospitality is an asset.
  • Experience with sake and soju is preferred.
  • Proven cocktail experience is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality setting.
  • Background in both fine dining and casual restaurant bar environments is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of beverages, including traditional cocktails and contemporary, on-trend options.
  • Experience with new restaurant or bar openings and bar setup is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for beverages, food, and service is essential.
  • Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding organization in a fast-paced environment while functioning as a team player.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong business acumen is required.
