Rehabilitation Support Specialist

We are seeking a TEMPORARY Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to support our Long Term Care clients. Under the guidance of a licensed Physiotherapist, the PTA will engage closely with residents to facilitate their treatment plans and help them achieve their rehabilitation objectives.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time hours available for a temporary position.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading group therapy sessions and provide individualized support as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Motivate residents to meet their therapeutic goals as outlined in their treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and document residents' progress following the Physiotherapist's guidelines.
  • Support residents with mobility, including walking, sitting, and safe transfers.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' health conditions to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Administer basic treatments such as applying ice or heat packs, ultrasound therapy, and other modalities as instructed.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with elderly individuals, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Previous experience in a Long Term Care or retirement setting is highly desirable.
  • A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is mandatory.
  • Proof of a valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
  • Access to reliable transportation is essential.
  • Candidates must reside in the local area.
