At Braze, we're looking for a talented Product Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our product organization, you'll be responsible for leading design across multiple product areas, including Feature Flags, Push, Content Cards, and In-App Messaging channels.

You'll manage a team of product designers, partnering with product management, UX research, and engineering leadership on discovery, strategy, and execution. Your design and research aptitude will inform your role, and you'll be expected to coach your team to maintain a high bar for design quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design across multiple product areas, including Feature Flags, Push, Content Cards, and In-App Messaging channels.
  • Manage a team of product designers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality design work.
  • Partner with product management, UX research, and engineering leadership on discovery, strategy, and execution.
  • Identify and operationalize overlapping efforts across product teams to ensure consistency for Braze customers.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire candidates for your team and across the design org.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and accountability for design within your team.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of design and/or front-end development experience combined.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of complex problems and products, with the ability to discuss technical feasibility and long-term planning.
  • Clear, concise, and cogent communication skills.
  • Structured thinking, with the ability to use frameworks to bring structure to projects.
  • Organized and thorough, with a habit of documenting and double-checking work.
