Whissell Contracting Ltd is seeking a skilled Pipeline Construction Technician to join our Lethbridge team. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist in the installation of underground utilities, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor junior crew members in pipeline installation techniques
  • Carry out site foreman's directives safely and efficiently
  • Install various sizes and materials of pipe, ensuring accurate cuts and slopes
  • Work safely in deep trenches, utilizing excavation equipment and trenching tools
  • Mentor and coach junior employees in safety procedures and best practices
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Alberta OH&S guidelines and Whissell safety policies
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Pipelayer in the Deep Underground Utility Installation industry
  • Thorough knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use, including leveling and grading
  • Ability to read blueprint and city specifications, as well as understand Locates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
