Job Summary:

Whissell Contracting Ltd is seeking a skilled Underground Pipelayer to join our Lethbridge team. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist in the installation of various sizes and materials of pipe, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor junior crew members to ensure a high level of expertise and efficiency.
  • Carry out site foreman's directives safely and effectively, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your team.
  • Install pipes of various sizes and materials, adhering to specifications and requirements.
  • Work safely in deep trenches, utilizing excavation equipment and tools as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S guidelines and Whissell safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Pipelayer in the Deep Underground Utility Installation industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use, including leveling, grading, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and city specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
