Demi Chef de Partie

Job Summary
This position reports directly to the Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef and is responsible for the execution of menu item production, adhering to company standards, and ensuring thorough compliance with safety and hygiene policies and procedures. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members, while supporting Great Canadian Entertainment's learning environment and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, pre-cook, cook, and present menu items in a timely manner, following standardized recipes.
- Prepare mise en place (setting in place) of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, and other products as required for high-volume production.
- Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Receive stock from receiving operations, label, date, store, and rotate in appropriate storage areas.
- May take orders over the counter at some locations.
- Assist with month-end inventories as directed.
- Attend culinary meetings as required.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments.
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, and team members.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; Culinary education an asset.
- Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts.
- Minimum 2 years of culinary experience.
- Wok experience considered an asset.
- Asian cuisine cooking experience an asset.
- Red Seal certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program an asset.
- Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check.
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
Work Environment Considerations
- Regular kitchen environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours.
