We are seeking a highly skilled Wind Service Site Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Limited in Oakville, Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing technical tasks to deliver services on wind turbines, including electrical and hydraulic maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.

About the Role

As a Wind Service Site Technician, you will work on-site at wind farms, performing a variety of tasks such as:

  • Performing electrical and hydraulic maintenance on wind turbines
  • Supporting technical tasks, including basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, and basic engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
  • Coordinating and accomplishing defined service operations and/or resolving product issues for wind turbines
  • Supporting warehouse, inventory, and safety inspections to support the site and team leads

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience or demonstrated knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial, or automotive industry
  • Ability to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology and translate learning into personal success
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work overtime and be on scheduled standby for weekends and holidays
