Job Title: Coordinator, Nursing Support Services

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Coordinator, Nursing Support Services. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the provision of nursing support services to children and youth with special health care needs in the school setting or childcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine eligibility for Nursing Support Services
  • Develop and implement individual health care plans for delegated nursing care
  • Provide training and education to non-nurse caregivers on delegated care procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate care provided by non-nurse caregivers
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement optimal client care plans
  • Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, and interventions according to practice standards

Requirements:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Three years recent, related clinical experience in nursing, including two years experience working with pediatrics, special needs children, and their families in a community setting
  • Valid Class V BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the process of delegation
  • Leadership and teaching skills
  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing client and family assessment and apply nursing theory and expertise to provide nursing care
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
