Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Generation Support Manager to join our team at Northwest Territories Power Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Generation Team for the Deh Cho/Sahtu region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and the public by reporting any safety incidents, providing orientations, and identifying hazards.
  • Supervise subordinate staff, including hiring, assigning work, conducting performance appraisals, and recommending terminations.
  • Provide technical advice to the Projects and Engineering Division and Finance Division on operations and maintenance budget administration, capital projects, and administrative policies.
  • Manage assigned capital projects, including coordination with the division asset manager, issuing quotes, and managing construction or procurement of assets.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and three years of related experience, including one year of management experience.
  • Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.
  • Experience in administrative and financial planning procedures, as well as extensive experience in power production.
  • Good planning, organizational, and prioritizing skills, as well as analytical and diagnostic skills with problem-solving competence.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and ability to undergo a successful criminal records check.
