Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a key member of our MDRD Department, you will be responsible for the reprocessing of patient care equipment and instruments to ensure they are safe and ready for use in operating rooms, endoscopy, and other patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process contaminated equipment and instruments, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Operate washer-disinfectors, cart washers, and sonic cleaners to decontaminate equipment and instruments.
- Inspect and assemble equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload sterilizers, monitoring parameters to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform and document biological testing on sterilization equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to hospital protocols and legislative requirements.
- Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Certificate.
- Successful completion of a Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CSA) certificate.
- Experience with medical terminology an asset.
- Minimum 1 year hospital work experience in sterile processing techniques and preparation of medical supplies and equipment.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and routine infection control practices.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (Windows and internet).
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and as a team member.
- Competitive hourly rate: $ - $ per hour.
