We are seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
- Manage Workload and Practice: Be accountable for appropriate workload and practice.
- Continuum of Patient Care: Continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community.
- Community-Based Care: Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level health care.
- Practice Growth and Development: Build to capacity within the first two years.
- Operational Excellence: Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
- Access and Availability: Work toward same day or next day access for the practice population.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs.
- After-Hours and Emergency Coverage: Work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required.
- Quality Improvement and Evaluation: Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.
- Electronic Medical Records: Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members.
- Licensure and Certification: All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Family Medicine Certification: All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Professional Membership: Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
