Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of administrative and reception duties, which include:

  • Registering patients and managing their information
  • Handling incoming calls and responding to inquiries
  • Completing necessary requisitions and transcribing medical orders
  • Coordinating appointment schedules
  • Ordering and overseeing inventory of medical supplies
  • Preparing stretchers and assisting with patient transport
  • Maintaining organized filing systems and performing data entry tasks
  • Assisting in staff scheduling and coordination

Additionally, the role requires the portering of patients using wheelchairs and stretchers as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clerical experience in a healthcare environment, or a recent Medical Office Administration Diploma from an accredited institution
  • Certification in medical terminology is mandatory
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is essential
  • Proficiency in fast and accurate data entry on computer systems is required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is necessary
  • Experience with patient-related databases is preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required
  • Strong customer service skills are a must
  • Ability to respond diplomatically to inquiries from staff, patients, and the public
  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and maneuvering various wheeled equipment
  • Consistent and satisfactory employment and attendance records are required

The ideal candidate will excel in providing patient-centered care within a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. Additional Information

Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday, with varying day and evening shifts, including both 8 and 12-hour rotations; hours may adjust based on operational requirements.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
