About the Team:

The Global Security Team is dedicated to safeguarding the people, assets, and reputation of Mattel. We achieve this by recruiting, training, and nurturing top-tier security and investigative professionals, establishing robust policies, collaborating effectively, and utilizing both established and emerging technologies.

Your Role:

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Security Officer with a background in security to help ensure the safety of Mattel's employees, visitors, products, and brands. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Security

  • Implement the best practices of the Mattel Global Security Department to protect the physical assets, property, and personnel from theft, damage, and unlawful activities.
  • Execute security responsibilities and related tasks as outlined in the Contingency Operations and Standard Operating Procedures under the guidance of the Security Leader and Supervisors.
  • Perform administrative data entry duties as per post orders (e.g., Employee Entrances, Patrol, Building Entrances).
  • Manage traffic control, visitor registration, and direct suppliers, contractors, and delivery personnel; also handle phone inquiries.
  • Conduct mobile and foot patrols to monitor the premises for security and facility-related issues. Oversee the access control system, CCTV, and management systems.
  • Support initiatives related to intellectual property.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on-site.

Safety Management

  • Monitor the fire control panel for alarms and equipment issues, reporting any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate with Security Supervisors and Facilities personnel during emergencies or security incidents, completing necessary Incident Reports. Respond to fire and first aid emergencies, facilitating assistance as needed.
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections, including checks on fire extinguishers and AEDs.

Additional tasks may be assigned based on business requirements. Overtime may be necessary on short notice.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
  • Preferred experience of one or more years in Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military service.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
  • A valid Security Guard License is mandatory.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens is required, or willingness to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies and technical procedures.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with security equipment such as handheld and walk-through metal detectors, radios, access control systems, and CCTV.
  • A growth mindset, demonstrating curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
