This internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the investment sector while gaining valuable experience with Scotiabank. During your co-op term, you will engage with a dynamic team, expand your professional network, and explore your interests while earning compensation. As a member of the Global Capital Markets division, the Equity Research Associate Internship is tailored for undergraduate and/or MBA and Masters students, providing exposure to various facets of the investment landscape.
Equity Research Associates play a pivotal role in the Equity Research sector by offering essential support to Equity Research Analysts. You will gain practical experience in conducting financial analyses, including market comparisons, company valuations, and financial modeling.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Developing and managing spreadsheets that include financial models and industry databases
- Creating tables and graphs for research publications and presentations
- Conducting primary research utilizing industry and financial resources
- Drafting reports on companies and sectors
- Preparing marketing presentations with PowerPoint

- You are currently pursuing post-secondary education
- You have a passion for learning and aspire to work for an organization that invests in your future
- You are actively involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, competitions, or hackathons
- You maintain a strong academic record
- You possess robust accounting, analytical, and mathematical skills
- You have excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- You are proficient in Excel
- You can perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Additional skills and interests that would be advantageous include:
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or FactSet
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course
- Interest in pursuing or currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program
