Job Title: Safety Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Advisor to join our team at Lindsay Construction. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and promoting a strong safety culture within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations within Atlantic Canada
  • Promote a strong safety culture both onsite and in office
  • Provide input into the company's health and safety program to continuously improve
  • Conduct safety training and maintain safety training records
  • Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments and formal site inspections
  • Participate in recording monthly safety statistics
  • Implement, enforce, monitor, and update site-specific health and safety plans
  • Deliver site-specific safety orientations and ensure personnel undergo orientation before entering the site
  • Maintain site-specific logs of inspections, meetings, infractions, and mitigating measures
  • Assist with maintenance of the company's quality management system
  • Work with the safety department on various business development initiatives
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of safety experience within the construction industry
  • CHSC or CRSP designation, or similar
  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulations within Atlantic Canada
  • Knowledge of safe work practices required for execution work and operation of equipment
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for construction site equipment
  • Possess a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lead and work with minimal supervision
  • Possess a valid driver's license
