The responsibilities of an Educational Facilitator encompass instructional and professional duties, ongoing professional development, and a commitment to excellence in the educational field.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional responsibilities may include:

  1. Conducting instructional sessions
  2. Preparing and revising course materials
  3. Engaging with students
  4. Providing student guidance
  5. Assessing and grading student submissions

Professional responsibilities may involve:

  1. Developing curriculum
  2. Managing student registration processes

Professional development activities aim to enhance teaching quality, subject matter expertise, and technical skills relevant to instructional roles.

Service-related activities may include:

  • Visiting schools
  • Participating in committee meetings
  • Attending educational meetings
  • Representing the institution at various events
  • Performing administrative tasks
Qualifications and Experience
  1. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent qualifications, along with three years of teaching experience in the related field.
  2. A valid teaching certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred and will be required post-appointment as per the collective agreement.
  3. Three years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in an adult education setting.
Skills and Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate a collaborative approach, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and exhibit effective interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in teaching, with a focus on learner-centered methodologies. Successful candidates will contribute to the institution's mission of providing high-quality education. Proficiency in computer-based environments and familiarity with relevant software programs is essential. The successful candidate will foster open communication between students and faculty.

The Department of Adult Upgrading is seeking Substitute Educational Facilitators to instruct English, Mathematics, and Science at various campuses.
