Qualifications: Applicants must possess qualifications in French.

Key Requirements:

  1. Candidates should be in good standing or actively pursuing Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification before the commencement of employment, and must have completed or be enrolled in French as a Second Language (FSL) or an equivalent program recognized by the Ontario College of Teachers.
  2. External applicants are required to provide a minimum of three (3) professional supervisory teaching references, including full name, position title, work location, and email address, during the online application process.
  3. Internal applicants should include all previous teaching experiences in their application, along with two (2) references, one of which must be from a YRDSB administrator.
  4. This position is specifically for French Immersion, and candidates must meet the Board's language standards for this program.
  5. Successful candidates will need to present a current original Police Vulnerable Sector Check or an Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) prior to starting employment. These documents must be issued within the last six months and should not be obtained before receiving a job offer.

Reference Examples:

  1. Principal or Vice-Principal who has supervised the candidate and can attest to their teaching practice.
  2. Faculty Advisor or Practicum Coordinator who has evaluated the candidate's teaching in a classroom environment.
  3. Host or Mentor Teacher who has overseen the candidate's teaching in an elementary or secondary setting.
  4. Professional reference who can speak to the candidate's teaching capabilities.
