About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our non-profit organization. As the face of the association, you will be responsible for managing our BC office and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the direction of office staff to execute and prioritize workload.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain office staff.
  • Schedule staff and board meetings, education, and events.
  • Update policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and negotiate extended benefits with third-party providers.
Accounting and Financial Management
  • Oversee and/or execute bookkeeping, including invoicing, accounts payable, and receivable.
  • Manage banking, including reconciliations, signatory authority, and term deposits.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements for the accountant.
  • Manage payroll, including bi-weekly payments.
  • Remit GST and prepare annual budgets.
Marketing and Administration
  • Oversee the presentation of Lunch & Learns.
  • Direct marketing programs.
  • Attend stakeholder events and trade shows.
  • Review and update all reports.
  • Oversee the development of promotional materials for annual meetings.
  • Edit, update, and administer the New Member package.
  • Oversee the member webpage.
Annual Meetings and Event Management
  • Manage, organize, and plan all aspects of the yearly Awards of Excellence ceremony.
  • Organize, plan, and attend all meetings, including Membership, AGM, and Board of Directors.
  • Own and execute all BC events, including the golf tournament, BBQs, and Christmas party.
  • Collaborate with the Board to book and manage all events.
  • Prepare agendas and financials.
  • Record minutes and execute action items.
  • Manage promotion of attendance.
  • Organize venues, catering, invitations, maintain RSVPs, and follow up.
Membership
  • Oversee the membership application program from first contact to full membership.
  • Maintain good relationships with all existing members, ensure compliance, and execute the yearly Salary Survey.
Education - Internal
  • Organize education value-added sessions.
  • Drive improved value-added education documents or programs.
  • Organize general membership meeting speakers.
  • Sit on the BCIT Program Advisory Committee or other partner programs.
