Job Title: Senior Business Analyst - Risk Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at the University of Ottawa. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in identifying and mitigating risks associated with our IT systems and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evaluation of business and operational requirements to recommend procedures, implementation, development, and improvements.
  • Develop business cases and communicate them between IT teams, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, design, and refine business process changes and transactions.
  • Develop a full understanding of business requirements to translate them into technical specifications.
  • Anticipate risks and issues in plans and requirements and work with IT professionals to mitigate and resolve them.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting business units and their IT needs.
  • Knowledge of computing principles, business processes, and cycles.
  • Knowledge of project management methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of the University's business standards and processes.
  • Knowledge of various software and web applications.
  • Analytical skills to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in a non-technical manner.
  • Bilingualism - French and English (written and spoken).
