Maintenance Supervisor

Silver Hotel Group is seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Supervisor. Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will:

  • Understand and adhere to the hotel's mission and standards while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Represent the engineering department in weekly operational meetings.
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and oversee the maintenance department staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of maintenance tasks, work orders, and special projects.
  • Maintain the hotel's physical appearance and operational efficiency, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Keep detailed records of all hotel plant and equipment, including repair and service logs.
  • Ensure proper usage and routine maintenance of all equipment.
  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections of property documents.
  • Maintain property grounds and work areas to standard, ensuring all safety equipment is compliant.
  • Provide training to staff on safety protocols, inventory management, and maintenance procedures.
  • Guide engineering staff on correct maintenance practices and assist with repairs as necessary.
  • Monitor and test the hotel's emergency and security systems, such as fire alarms.
  • Develop and implement emergency and conservation programs to minimize expenses.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers for maintenance contracts and address any outstanding issues.
  • Ensure quality service while meeting or exceeding financial objectives and managing daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures among all team members.
  • Provide necessary training in accordance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards, including the use of protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in a recognized trade with a solid understanding of building maintenance and operations; prior experience in a hotel setting is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and operations, including chillers, boilers, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure with guests and team members.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Please note that the hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
