About the Role

Avison Young is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Property Tax Services to join our team. As a key member of our Property Tax Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of property assessment and tax analysis, identifying and capitalizing on property tax saving opportunities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects and personnel to proactively identify and capitalize on property tax opportunities for our clients.
  • Manage and coordinate every stage of the property tax assessment appeal process, from initial filing to the resolution of appeals, and provide comprehensive reports to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive business growth and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and proactively bring new ideas and solutions to the business.
  • Travel as required to meet with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Comply with all Avison Young policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in property tax assessment and analysis.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant functional area, such as a Bachelor of Commerce or MBA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels within the organization.
