We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Training Coordinator to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan. As a key member of our Corporate Services Branch, you will play a critical role in promoting and ensuring ministry compliance with The Saskatchewan Employment Act and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
- Facilitate the implementation, administration, and review of ministry safety programs, including risk assessments and hazard identification.
- Research and design OHS strategies, policies, and programs to mitigate risk and injury, and provide advice on legislation and regulations.
- Assess and perform needs analysis for safety training requirements, and support managers and staff with workplace hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Coordinate investigations of incidents, and recommend corrective actions to ensure effective investigation procedures.
- Provide advice and interpretation of various legislation, codes, and standards to ensure compliance.
Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through an Occupational Health and Safety diploma or certificate from a post-secondary institution or other safety-related training. An equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating a high level of problem-solving and communication.
