About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Elevator Mechanic to join our team at Abco Elevator Inc. As an Elevator Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and other lifting devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices, ensuring that all equipment is properly configured and functioning as intended.
  • Training and Development: Instruct apprentices in the proper techniques and procedures for elevator maintenance and repair.
  • Quality Control: Test operation of newly installed equipment to ensure that it meets our high standards for quality and safety.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Logistics and Record-Keeping: Maintain log books that detail all repairs and checks performed, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Security and Safety: Perform safety and security checks to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and that our facilities are secure.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in elevator maintenance and repair is required.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires physically demanding work, including handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Qualities: A team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills is required.
