Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients across a wide range of patient populations, including medical/surgical, pediatrics, and critical care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing education and professional development.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing clinical environments and patient needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Recent clinical nursing experience in acute medical/surgical (within the last 5 years) preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing assessment and management of patients, including the nursing care plan.
- Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary care and a nursing professional practice model.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize problem-solving and critical-thinking techniques.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient care needs.
- Ability and willingness to regularly work in varying hospital sites and departments.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt positively to constantly changing clinical environments, patient populations, and situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement initiatives, continuous learning, and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical Care Certificate preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support certifications preferred.
- Recent experience in ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management, and mechanical ventilators preferred.
