SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist Assistant to deliver rehabilitation services to residents in a Long-Term Care environment. Your role will involve executing the treatment plans developed by the supervising Physiotherapist, aimed at enhancing the functional independence of our residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accept and execute tasks assigned by the supervising Physiotherapist, ensuring effective communication for optimal resident care Adhere to Resident- and Family-centered Care Plans as per assigned responsibilities Implement therapeutic interventions to meet Resident/Family objectives in areas such as mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical function Facilitate group exercise sessions for residents Maintain and sanitize rehabilitation equipment Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, focusing on measurable outcomes and resident satisfaction

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a 2-year Diploma from an accredited OTA/PTA Program or equivalent Successful completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) upon hiring Up-to-date vaccinations, including COVID-19, influenza, MMR, DTaP, varicella, and TB skin test Knowledge and experience in evidence-based practices related to musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, with a focus on enhancing functional outcomes Excellent communication and clinical reasoning abilities; adaptable to evolving demands and schedules Demonstrated compassion and care in all interactions with residents and their families

Preferred qualifications include prior experience in delivering rehabilitation services to the geriatric population within an integrated care framework, particularly in a Long-Term Care setting. Familiarity with rehabilitation equipment, including mobility aids and therapeutic modalities, is advantageous.
