Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of CNC Operator within our Fabrication Shop. This position plays a crucial part in our operations, focusing on the production of precise components for our Assembly Lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
  • Engage in ongoing improvements related to operational processes, enhancing productivity within a collaborative team setting.
  • Assist in training junior operators and apprentices to foster skill development.
  • Document and report daily production metrics and material usage.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders while maintaining high productivity levels.
  • Modify DXF files according to specific requirements, including adjustments for bend allowances.
  • Manage CNC tool inventory and liaise with the Production Controller.
  • Conduct maintenance on CNC machines and communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager and Production Controller.
  • Address and resolve programming or CNC-related issues as they arise.
  • Measure components to ensure compliance with our Quality Control/Quality Assurance Program.
  • Contribute to the sharing of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman CNC machinist certification is an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in machining or CNC operation, particularly with 5-Axis machines.
  • Experience with Fanuc Control systems.
  • Familiarity with 3D cutting in Mastercam and programming experience.
  • Proficient in unit conversions between imperial and metric systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Attention to detail, precision, and accuracy are essential.
  • Experience with Elumatic and/or Onsrud is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of architectural metal layout is considered beneficial.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Suite and PDF programs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with architectural products is an asset.

Compensation ranges from $30 to $45 per hour.
