We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become a part of our Fabrication Shop as a CNC Operator. This role involves working collaboratively within a dedicated team in the Facades sector, where the CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating various jobs to produce precise components for our Assembly Lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives related to operations, programs, and processes to enhance productivity within a team setting.
  • Assist in training Junior operators and apprentices.
  • Record and communicate daily production metrics and material usage.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders while maintaining productivity.
  • Modify DXF files according to specific requirements, including adjustments for bend allowances.
  • Manage CNC tool inventory and liaise with the Production Controller.
  • Perform maintenance on CNC machines and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and Production Controller.
  • Troubleshoot programming and CNC issues as they arise.
  • Measure components to ensure compliance with the QC/QA Program.
  • Contribute to the sharing of best practices and ongoing improvements within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman CNC machinist certification is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machining/CNC operation with a 5-Axis machine.
  • Experience with Fanuc Control systems.
  • Familiarity with 3D cutting in Mastercam and programming experience.
  • Proficient in unit conversions between imperial and metric systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, precision, and accuracy are essential.
  • Experience with Elumatic and/or Onsrud is a plus.
  • Knowledge of architectural metal layout is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Suite and PDF programs is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with architectural products is a plus.

Compensation ranges from $30 to $45 per hour.
