Job Title: Research Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join our team at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). As a Research Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our Clean Energy Innovation Research Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and integrating data into our data hub. You will also support the identification of technology gaps and benchmark development technologies. If you have a strong background in data analytics, process engineering, and materials science, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and organize data from various sources
  • Integrate data into our data hub
  • Support the identification of technology gaps and benchmark development technologies
  • Work collaboratively with our team to deliver excellent service
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant area of expertise or a Master's Degree in Engineering combined with work experience in research or technology development
  • Significant experience in one or more competency areas required in the Portfolio research program areas
  • Experience in the full spectrum of research activities, including identification of research requirements, proposal writing, project management, data production and analysis, and reporting
  • Experience in experimental design and analysis, including data collection and analysis, overseeing data production, and ensuring data quality
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
Language Requirements:

English

Assessment Criteria:
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics
  • Knowledge of data management and databases
  • Strong programming and computational skills, such as Python
  • Knowledge of process engineering and materials science
  • Knowledge of life cycle assessment
  • Knowledge of battery materials and cells, carbon dioxide capture or hydrogen technologies will be considered an asset

Compensation:

$62,071 to $175,466 per annum
