Position Title: Lead Applications Engineer
Department: Business Development
Entity: CS - Energy Storage
Reports to: Senior Director of Business Development and Applications
Location: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities- Act as a technical liaison between the Sales team and clients, serving as an expert resource for product specifications and value engineering discussions.
- Review RFPs and other customer documentation to assess project scope, timelines, specifications, risks, and technical requirements.
- Generate technical documentation for proposals and collaborate with various departments to prepare bid packages.
- Work closely with sales personnel, engineering teams, and procurement to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project priorities.
- Deliver technical presentations and provide clarifications to clients and internal teams.
- Create sizing models and conceptual drawing sets, including Electrical One-line Diagrams and Site Layouts.
- Conduct site visits and battery energy storage system field inspections as necessary.
- A proactive professional with a positive mindset.
- Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals across various levels and disciplines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Adaptable to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
- Excellent time management abilities, capable of juggling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Several years of experience in applications and/or systems engineering within the energy storage or EPC sectors.
- Direct experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems or utility-scale solar projects.
- Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to interpret engineering schematics, technical advisory reports, and technology assessments.
- Solid understanding of regulatory standards in the US pertaining to energy storage and grid-interactive inverters.
- A global perspective and experience working across diverse cultures in a multinational environment is advantageous.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical) is required; a graduate degree is highly preferred.
