Faculty of Adventure Studies Instructor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to join our team in the Faculty of Adventure Studies at Thompson Rivers University. As a part-time Sessional Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in the Adventure Studies department, including field and classroom courses.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the adventure industry, with a strong background in teaching and instruction. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, as well as contributing to the development of our programs and courses.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about adventure education and has a strong commitment to student learning. If you are a motivated and experienced instructor who is looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of courses in the Adventure Studies department
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students
  • Contribute to the development of our programs and courses
  • Work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff

Qualifications:

  • Relevant diploma or professional qualifications (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Extensive professional outdoor experience in various types of terrain and geographical locations
  • Extensive personal and professional experience within an adventure business and adventure guiding application
  • Industry certification at the instructor or examiner level required
  • Familiarity with TRU programs and courses
