Job Summary:

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and services to patients with oncology/hematology diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced physical assessment, clinical reasoning, and pharmacology skills to formulate effective care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Develop and implement patient education and ongoing emotional support plans.
  • Ensure the safest patient care and services, and recognize and report safety incidents or potentially unsafe conditions.

Requirements:

  • Unencumbered registration as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Nurse Practitioner certification in Primary Health Care or Adult streams.
  • Membership in RNAO or NPAO is required.
  • Successful completion of Graduate Studies.
  • Minimum 3 years recent nurse practitioner experience in an acute care setting during the past 5-year period.
  • Experience in Oncology/Hematology (2 years minimum).
  • Completion of the Desouza Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Course to be completed, will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient and Family Centred Care.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Regular and sustained attendance.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Hospital's Code of Conduct.
  • Computer skills using Word, Excel, and Power Point, Groupwise.

Salary Range: $65,210 to $70,750
