About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team at Jagir Contracting Inc. as a Structural Steel Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural steel components for various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laying Out Reference Points and Patterns: Plan and execute the layout of reference points and patterns for metal fabrication projects.
  • Efficient Task Sequencing: Plan the most efficient sequence of tasks to cut and process metal components.
  • Material Requirements: Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements for each project.
  • Assembly and Fitting: Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, ensuring precise fit and finish.
  • Welding and Joining: Weld or bolt sections together using various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Plasma ARC, and ARC spot.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, such as brakes and presses, cutting torches, grinders, and shears.
  • Pattern and Template Construction: Construct patterns and templates for metal fabrication projects.
  • Installation and Rigging: Install fabricated components in final products and rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.
