About the Role

The Government of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our Provincial Priorities Branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex projects that span multiple programs, utilizing your expertise in project and change management to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage large-scale projects with multiple delivery components, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with executives and stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coach and mentor senior-level professionals and managers in project development and implementation.
  • Supervise staff, assign work, and monitor employee performance.
  • Manage business planning, contract management, financial management, and negotiations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation within six months of commencement.
  • Minimum three years' experience at a senior level leading major projects of large scale and complexity.
  • Minimum three years' experience establishing collaborative relationships with executives and leading organizational change.
  • Minimum three years' experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior-level professionals and/or managers.
  • Minimum three years' experience in direct supervision of staff, including assignment of work and monitoring employee performance.
  • Experience in business planning, contract management, financial management, and negotiations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Prosci Change Management certification.
  • Lean certification.
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and partners in the social sector.
  • Experience managing projects in the childcare and/or social sector and/or a public-facing social service delivery organization.
  • Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
