Entry-Level Engineered Wood Floor Design Technician

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to become a part of our Engineered Wood Products Design Team. The entry-level design technician will provide essential support to sales personnel and construction experts by developing construction-ready layouts and material lists for project delivery. Candidates should possess the ability to interpret architectural and structural blueprints. We are open to considering both full-time and summer student candidates, with comprehensive training available.

- Assist the design team with administrative tasks. Create engineered wood layouts and material lists utilizing Javelin software.
- Evaluate gravity loads in structures to identify and resolve structural challenges.
- Deliver technical assistance to on-site framing teams, project managers, and project engineers via phone, email, and site visits.
- Offer design solutions for single members (joists and beams).
- Familiarity with wood frame construction (e.g., experience in on-site construction, knowledge of building materials) is advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe PDF, etc.). Ability to read architectural and structural plans, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Javelin, Keymark, T)-Expert, or similar floor system design software is beneficial but not mandatory. On-site job training will be provided.
- Relevant experience with AutoCAD or other computer-aided drafting software is a plus but not required. Sales or customer service experience is also valued.
