About the Position

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking highly qualified Language Instructors to join our team of educators. As a Language Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality language instruction to students in our International and Indigenous Languages Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement language programs that cater to the needs of students
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in the classroom and online
  • Familiarize yourself with digital tools to facilitate virtual learning
  • Develop and implement inclusive and equitable learning practices
  • Assess and evaluate student progress
  • Communicate student progress to parents and guardians
  • Supervise students in virtual learning settings
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
  • Fluency in the target language
  • Teaching experience, with a preference for experience teaching Japanese
  • Related degree or diploma, with a preference for Ontario College of Teachers' certification or equivalent
