**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team at the Town of Banff. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and guidance to support the organization's goals and objectives.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and Council to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage and maintain financial systems, including accounting software and financial databases.
  • Lead and direct a team of financial professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

**Requirements:**

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or commerce.
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in senior financial or accounting roles, preferably in municipal government.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, Council, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
