About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Analyst to join our team at the University of Alberta. As a key member of our Shared Services department, you will play a critical role in bridging data management, reporting, and configuration of systems changes between Shared Services and Enterprise systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business and Technical teams to design and develop new modules and/or processes, and implement new solutions that enhance business processes and user experience.
  • Conduct System Testing and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure successful deployment of changes.
  • Investigate and analyze data requests to determine expected outcomes, business/stakeholder requirements, and the best method for generating and accessing the information.
  • Identify key performance indicators to support the measurement and monitoring of business performance toward strategic goals.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including business process flows, system specifications, and training materials.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Finance/Accounting, Computing Science, or Management Information Systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of Functional or Business Analyst experience with ERP Finance Applications.
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft Finance modules (GL, AP AR, etc).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, managing time and resources effectively to achieve results, effectively focusing on workload priorities while working within strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in a Business Analysis program certified by the International Institute of Business Analysts.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Reporting, and Data Analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of the post-secondary environment is an asset.
  • Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Proven organizational change management skills.
