The City of Red Deer is seeking a skilled individual to fill a permanent full-time position as a Transit Service Person. This role is responsible for the daily maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of the city's entire Transit fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of Transit vehicles.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including fueling and lubrication.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Operate Transit vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues or concerns related to Transit operations.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 6 months of previous cleaning or custodial experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's license with Air Brake endorsement.
  • Knowledge of basic traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $25.88 to $28.76.
  • 80 hours biweekly; night shifts 5:00 pm to 2:00 am as scheduled.
