Island Health is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the University of Victoria Student Wellness Centre. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing collaborative and comprehensive care to post-secondary students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide primary care services to students, including routine check-ups, health assessments, and management of acute and chronic conditions

• Conduct health education and promotion activities to support students' physical and mental well-being

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including clinical counselors, psychologists, and registered nurses, to provide comprehensive care

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services

Requirements:

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

• Experience in family medicine or a related field

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

• Flexible scheduling to accommodate locum dates

• Average daily patient volume: 16

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Accuro (QHR)

• Access to 12 clinical rooms, 13 Medical Office Assistants, 6 Registered Nurses, 1 Clinical Administrative Assistant, and 1 Administrative Manager

• Daily and monthly parking available for purchase online

• 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks per day

• Remuneration: $14/hour plus 6% = $71/hour

• In-person and virtual appointments available
