Department: Teaching Centres

Contract Type: Local teaching standard, full-time (38 working hours per week including 12 teaching hours), definite for two years (initially)

Payband: local TC Coordinator scale

Starting Salary: from 44,883 CZK (gross monthly)

Role Purpose: To plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of various customer groups, considering individual learning preferences. Monitor student progress and provide consistent feedback to manage performance throughout the course. Uphold academic standards by supporting in-house teacher development programs. Serve as the lead for adult courses, providing support to teachers, assessing courses and evaluations, and leading updates to adult programs.

Main Responsibilities:

Teaching

  • Deliver a maximum of 12 teaching hours per week.
  • Complete teaching-related administrative tasks to specified standards.

Teacher Support

  • Provide effective line management and support for staff, including observations in accordance with performance management guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all teaching is conducted to the standards outlined in teachers' Role Profiles, the Global Statement of Approach, and British Council Global Teaching Standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment, induction, and onboarding of new educators.

Teaching Excellence

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of an annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program that aligns with the Cluster Teaching Excellence Action Plan.
  • Act as a role model for exemplary classroom practices by encouraging teachers to observe you or others, conducting demonstration lessons, leading teacher development sessions, and performing observations.

Product and Service Delivery and Development

  • Ensure that frameworks supporting teaching and learning (Statements of Approach, IP, Teaching Standards Framework, Product guidelines, TEAP) are understood and applied by academic colleagues in their daily activities.
  • Ensure teachers communicate relevant policies to learners (e.g., statement of approach, behavior policy, product information, EDI, etc.) during the course and support other teams with communications (e.g., Customer Service and Marketing).
  • Collaborate with the Teaching Operations and Customer Services teams to address academic inquiries or complaints, ensuring teachers are fully briefed and consulted where appropriate.
  • Contribute as needed to the cluster/regional product team.
  • Participate in the regional monitoring and evaluation of global products and related services to meet students' needs.

Requirements:

Minimum/Essential:

  • 2 years of post-diploma experience (e.g., DELTA/Trinity Diploma TESOL).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and delivering teacher training.
  • Experience in line managing/coordinating teaching teams.
  • Experience in teaching relevant age groups.
  • Full mastery of English across all four skills, equivalent to CEFR C2 (IELTS Academic Paper Band 8/9 in each of the four sections).
  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Certificate TESOL.
  • Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Diploma TESOL or equivalent recognized by the British Council.

Additional Requirements: The successful candidate must have a pre-existing right to live and work in the Czech Republic.
