Job Summary:

The Painting Supervisor will be responsible for supervising workers and projects, coordinating and scheduling activities, overseeing apprenticeship training, and ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Oversee apprenticeship training to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Lead and instruct individuals to achieve project goals.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Prepare and submit progress and other reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Organized and reliable with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead others.
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Does not require Canadian work experience.
