  • Perform risk evaluations and classifications in accordance with Manulife's principles and standards.

Qualifications We Seek

  • A minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience.
  • Life signing authority exceeding $1,000,000.
  • A sales-oriented mindset with a focus on acquiring and retaining business in a competitive landscape.
  • Progress towards or completion of FALU, FLMI, and ACS designations.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, including physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, imaging, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
  • Understanding of how non-medical risks influence mortality, including hazardous occupations, sports, avocations, and lifestyle choices.
  • Experience with financial documentation and training in anti-money laundering practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

Additional Skills (Not Mandatory)

  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset – particularly for candidates in Québec, who must communicate in both languages to assist clients from various jurisdictions.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese is advantageous.
  • CI authority exceeding $100,000.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as medical, research, or finance.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Interest in representing the organization at external events, panels, and conferences.
  • Experience in co-signing, referral assessments, mentoring, etc.

The annual base salary for this role is outlined below.

Salary range is expected to be between

$60,000.00 CAD - $100,000.00 CAD

Actual salaries may vary based on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education. Employees may also participate in incentive programs tied to business and individual performance.
