Job Title: Educational Assistant - CUPE 24/25

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with mild to moderate learning needs, severe social/emotional behavioral challenges, and/or medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with individual program plans and implement positive, proactive behavioral interventions.
  • Provide support with daily living skills, such as toileting and running.
  • Facilitate positive peer interactions among students and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support students' academic and social needs.
Requirements:
  • Completion of the Education Assistant Program at MacEwan University or equivalent post-secondary training.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a strong, interdisciplinary team.
