Position Overview

The Quality Control Chemist I (Manufacturing Analytical Operations) will provide essential support for the ongoing manufacturing processes.

This role involves Quality Control assistance in a 24/7 operational environment, with a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts that includes day, night, and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes knowledge of site protocols (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) such as ICH Q7.
  • Conducts both routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and finished product samples.
  • Performs cleaning verification analyses and visual inspections of manufacturing equipment.
  • Reviews analytical data and testing results to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant specifications and protocols.
  • Assists in laboratory investigations as necessary.
  • Participates in group meetings and training sessions, and may present data or prepare information for others.
  • Proposes enhancements to laboratory testing methods and procedures when applicable.
  • Engages in weekly laboratory maintenance activities.
  • Conducts basic preventative maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments.
  • Troubleshoots instrumentation and testing methodologies.
  • Drafts and executes protocols and reports.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience in conducting and analyzing data for analytical methods such as UPLC/HPLC, GC, NMR, KF titration, DSC/TGA, PSD, etc.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Empower, LIMS, LabX, electronic notebooks, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Strong technical and laboratory skills to perform analyses efficiently and reliably in cGMP-regulated environments.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals across various skill levels and experiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:

Technical Diploma with relevant industry experience; OR a B.Sc. in Chemistry or Biology with no prior experience required.
