Position Overview

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time 1 FTE

Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Quality Officer, this role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the clinical quality domain, including policy formulation, standards implementation, audits, accreditation processes, and infection control measures.

The Head of Quality Assurance will guide the review of clinical care policies, monitor essential metrics, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and organizational objectives. A strong emphasis will be placed on promoting quality and safety for residents and clients, while facilitating change management and educational initiatives related to quality improvements.

This position will also lead the Accreditation survey process and ensure that the development and execution of quality and safety plans align with the strategic goals of the organization. By partnering with all sites and programs, the Head of Quality Assurance will work to create a cohesive clinical and quality framework that reflects the mission, vision, and values of The Good Samaritan Society.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in Gerontology is advantageous.
  • Preferred qualifications include education or certification in Quality Improvement and Change Management.
Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity, encompassing financial and operational planning.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the continuing care sector and gerontology.
  • Proven experience in clinical quality improvement, analytics, and resident/client safety.
  • Familiarity with clinical quality information systems, including electronic health records.

  • Strong commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven track record in fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Limitations of the Role
  • Authority to approve research projects.
  • Making significant changes to resident service programs.
  • Initiating new service contracts.
  • Modifying classifications or pay rates.
  • Operating outside established agreements, policies, or legislation.
