About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mortgage Underwriting Manager to join our team at First National Financial. As a key member of our Third Party Residential Underwriting Division, you will be responsible for leading a team of underwriters and ensuring the successful assessment and approval of mortgage applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of underwriters in meeting the goals of the Third Party Residential Underwriting Division
- Make lending decisions within established limits while ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners
- Generate new business opportunities through existing referral sources
- Manage the capacity of the team through efficient delegation of work and careful monitoring of volumes within the workflow
- Provide coaching, training, and development to team members
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred
- 3-5 years previous mortgage underwriting experience required
- 2 or more years people management experience
- Completion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or FSCO License an asset
