About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director, Corporate Communications and Strategy to join our team at CareerBeacon. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive external communications plans to support our business priorities and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute external communications strategies to enhance and protect our corporate reputation in the Atlantic provinces and contribute to national initiatives.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the region, including media, government, and community leaders.
  • Develop and disseminate communications materials, including press releases, key messages, briefing materials, and backgrounders, to support our communications plans.
  • Support media interviews with our executives, including spokesperson preparation and media relations.
  • Identify and manage emerging issues in close collaboration with our business teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on evolving economic, political, regulatory, and social issues that affect our business across the country.
  • Monitor and measure communications impact for key activities, using metrics such as media share of voice and sentiment.
Critical Qualifications
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in public relations/media relations at a medium to large organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across a variety of vehicles.
  • Demonstrated success at driving effective external communications campaigns and programs.
  • Tactful handling of difficult situations and strong issues management/crisis comms experience.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver quality communications with tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of traditional media relations as well as social media.
  • Experience with a technology or telecoms company an asset.
