About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host to join our team at Braven. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage guest flow and seating capacity to ensure a seamless dining experience
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and managers to maintain proper guest flow
- Escort guests to their tables, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly
- Accurately take and confirm reservations over the phone and in person
- Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of shows, concerts, special events, and NBs
- Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris
- Maintain awareness of which servers are in each section and know all table numbers
- Fulfill special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, NBs, etc. and ensure all co-workers are informed
- Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing checks regularly throughout the shift
Requirements
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
- Minimum 1 year restaurant experience
