Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience by managing restaurant flow, communicating with employees, and ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests and manage restaurant flow to maximize seating capacity
- Communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly
- Accurately take and confirm reservations over the phone and in person
- Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of shows, concerts, and special events
- Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris
- Maintain awareness of which servers are in each section and fill out detailed special request forms
- Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing checks regularly throughout the shift
Requirements
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
- Minimum 1 year restaurant experience
